Let’s pay attention to 5 key products usage when we age
1. Foundation
Foundation absorbs in the skin differently as we age, so we shall select one with a different formulation.
- Use a primer before applying the foundation.
Do this because the foundation disappears within a couple of hours whenever applied to older skin. The skin becomes thirstier. That is why it may give a creepy look creating creases on the sides of lips or eyes.
- Primer will allow makeup to stay on the skin.
The feather lines will not show up. Another important thing is to pay attention to the color or shade of the foundation. It should match the color of your neck, not your face. Apply it on the chin and compare.
- For a glower look, combine moisturizer, primer, and foundation.
2. Eyebrows
With age, the hairs gets thin and sparser. Eyebrows are also affected, so it impacts the overall appearance.
- Brows are very essential in maintaining the balance of the face, it enhances the eye area.
So use a color eyebrow stick to redefine it. But to make the difference stop using the same eyebrow pencil that you always use.
- With age if the hairs have turned to brown, gray or blonde use a taupe color for brows, instead of brown or black. It will look good.
It is always good to pay attention to each brow. They may not age evenly. You can use mascara as well. Notice if you need more or less on one or other brow.
- The important thing to note is that the end of the brows should not drop down, it should always be straight. This will help avoid the hooded-eye look.
3. Eyeliner
Eyeliner adds intensity to eyes, however, it is essential to remember to avoid using black eyeliner.
Eyes lose definition with age and they appear small.
- Eyeliner will make them look big but to surpass the harsh look use charcoal grey or deep navy color.
- If you have a fairer skin you can use olive or brown color as well. Deeper skin tone looks good with plum colors.
Also, change the way of applying it.
- Eyes may look downturned if you apply the liner till the end of the eye. Apply it along the base of the top lashes and stop just before the end of the eye.
4. Concealer
Usually, we apply concealer before the foundation. If you are one of them change it and start applying it on top of tinted moisturizer or foundation.
- Apply cream under the eyes, and then apply it to avoid dry skin.
5. Blush
Skin tone changes with age, so never forget to use blush. It is essential to give the skin a healthy glow. For older skin, it is good to give it a thoughtful approach instead of a quick swipe.
- If you use it high on cheekbones it will draw attention to the under-eye area. Apply it right on the cheekbones.
Prefer cream to powder blush formulation. Position the blusher easily as a cream and then move it with a brush like a powder.
You can also apply blush on cheeks (starting from the center of the eye) moving down until you can feel the lower part of your cheekbone.
- Use a brush, blend, and sweep the color up towards your hairline.
Beauty Is Ageless
Age is no bar to measure beauty. Be kind to yourself with whatever you do. Accept age as everyone gets old.
- This doesn’t mean we can’t apply makeup to enhance our looks.
Remember the hallmarks on the face are the sign of a good life, well lived.
