As per research in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, there is a huge reduction in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease if a person is in the habit of taking unsweetened coffee.
What did the research confirm?
The research was performed between the age group of 40 to 69 years participants. The participants were divided into four groups- unsweetened coffee group, sweetened coffee group, artificially sweetened coffee group, and non-coffee drinkers.
It revealed that the unsweetened coffee group had a 29-30% lower risk of developing dementia and Parkinson’s disease compared to the non-coffee drinkers group.
They also had a 43% lower risk of dying from these conditions.
While the other two groups do not show any protective benefits, they may be at risk of developing the disease.
Similar protective measures are seen with decaf coffee.
It reduces the risk of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease by 34-37%, also reducing the dying risks by 47%.
